Ryvell Fitzpatrick serves as Law Clerk for MCJ’s Justice Court Pilot Program with the Economic Justice Campaign. A native of Ruleville, Mississippi, Ryvell began his career as a public school teacher in the Mississippi Delta before earning his J.D. from Howard University School of Law. During law school, he worked as a Fellow in the Office of the Student Advocate in Washington, D.C., focusing on discipline policy reform. He went on to serve as Assistant Ombudsman for the D.C. State Board of Education and later as Ombudsperson for Montgomery County Public Schools, helping families navigate education systems and supporting policy improvements. Most recently, Ryvell served as Chief of Staff to the Prince George’s County Board of Education. He is excited to return home and support MCJ’s mission to expand access to justice across Mississippi.
