Catouche J. L. Body serves as Senior Staff Attorney for MCJ’s Heirs’ Property Campaign. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics/Pre-Engineering from Tougaloo College in 1996 and a Juris Doctorate from Mississippi College School of Law in 1999. While in law school, he served as a law clerk to the Honorable Mississippi Supreme Court Justice Fred L. Banks. Catouche was admitted to The Mississippi Bar in 1999 and has more than twenty-five years of experience focusing on major criminal and civil litigation. He began his legal career with the law firm of Daniel Coker Horton and Bell, PLLC, before transitioning to sole practice in 2002. In October 2024, Catouche joined MCJ to support the mission of the Heirs’ Property Campaign by helping historically underserved farmers and landowners protect their land for future generations. A Canton, Mississippi native, Catouche is married with four children and two grandchildren.
