From every indication, on January 6, 2021, the president of the United States was complicit in an attempted armed takeover of the U.S. Capitol. If the insurrectionists had been successful, Trump would have led a coup against our government, overturning a fair election and upending our constitution. The impact would forever tarnish the United States’ reputation as a fair and free democracy.
The riot that day left five people dead and hundreds more injured or traumatized. America was in disbelief that such a spectacle could happen in our country. Only one thing was certain – it could not happen again.
MCJ is on the legal team representing the legislators who are suing Donald Trump, Rudy Giuliani, the Oath Keepers, and the Proud Boys over their roles in the Capitol invasion.
