According to the National Consumer Law Center, state courts across the nation have begun to hold remote virtual hearings. Hinds County Justice Court, in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, now utilizes remote conferencing in civil matters due to limited space for social distancing in the courtroom. All civil hearings are now held via video conferencing to accommodate consumers.
These video conferences are accessible through an app and website known as LIFESIZE APP. The Center has developed step-by-step guides to aid consumers in successfully logging on to the app/website to attend their hearing. Should you need special accommodations or cannot access the virtual hearing for any reason, please contact the Hinds County Justice Court (601) 965-8800 as soon as possible.
If you have any questions, concerns, or suggestions please contact Seirra Williams at swilliams@mscenterforjustice.org.
