Mississippi Center for Justice is a nonprofit, public interest law firm committed to advancing racial, economic, and social justice. Supported and staffed by attorneys and other professionals, MCJ develops and pursues strategies to combat discrimination and poverty statewide.

MCJ 2025 Legislative Agenda

At the start of the 2025 Legislative Session, MCJ identified issues to set our Legislative Agenda. Our legislative agenda is not just a set of priorities crafted in isolation, but it reflects the work we have done throughout the years in close collaboration with the communities we serve. MCJ engage with Mississippians by providing direct services to individuals and families, who, in turn, bring us the pressing issues that negatively impact their lives— placing them at the heart of our legislative priorities.

The insights we gain through our work empower us to champion policies that drive meaningful change for all Mississippians. While some of the bills we prioritized did not progress beyond committee, our efforts raised awareness among policymakers, laying the groundwork for future action. Now, we are focusing on the bills that have advanced to the House and Senate floors, expanding our scope to include additional legislation that aligns with our mission. Our goal remains the same—to drive policy changes that create a positive, lasting impact. Throughout the legislative session, we will continue advocating for the bills we are tracking.
