We are committed to advancing racial justice by challenging laws, policies, and practices that negatively impact marginalized communities in Mississippi. Our George Riley Impact Campaign pursues legal action and advocacy on a broad range of issues when the civil rights of Mississippians are being threatened. Our impact litigation docket has included cases relating to voting rights, free speech, workers’ rights, reproductive freedom, unconstitutional policing, prison conditions, public funding of private schools, and children charged as adults.   

Launched in 2017 by one of our founders, Rob McDuff, the Impact Campaign was established in honor of the late George Riley, a renowned attorney who was a long-time MCJ board member and provided pro bono support to our projects over many years. By carrying on this legacy, we are making sure the rights of Mississippians are upheld and expanded.
