We launched Mississippi’s only medical-legal partnership to ensure that people living with HIV have the legal support they need to thrive. Through our collaboration with the Mississippi State Department of Health Ryan White Part B services, we provide free legal assistance to individuals living with or newly diagnosed with HIV. This partnership merges the skills and training of legal professionals and health providers in medical settings to identify, address, and prevent health-harming social conditions for people and communities.

By working directly with local clinics, we help prevent discrimination and ensure that individuals know their legal rights in areas such as housing, employment, and privacy. We also empower people to advocate for themselves under protections like the Americans with Disabilities Act through our Know Your Rights brochures and outreach. Through this integrated approach, we strive to build a supportive environment where legal barriers do not stand in the way of health and wellbeing.

How We Help

For Potential Clients

If you are an individual with HIV that has experienced employment discrimination, housing discrimination, and/or privacy rights violations OR would like to obtain a simple will, power of attorney or advanced care directive.

For Heathcare Providers

If you are a Ryan White Part B provider who would like to refer a patient, schedule a presenter for a semi-annual refresher course, or request educational materials to distribute to your patients.

For Community Members

If you are interested in learning more about the legal rights of individuals with HIV and/or how medical-legal partnerships promote healthier outcomes and would like to schedule a presenter for support group meetings or staff trainings.
