Foreclosure is a term used when a lender attempts to recover from a borrower who has defaulted on their mortgage payments. In Mississippi, the lender is not required to directly notify the homeowner of a foreclosure sale, and there is no right to redeem the property once it is sold via foreclosure.
There are many ways to prevent foreclosure, such as governmental assistance, bankruptcy, loan modification, and loss mitigation.
