Mississippi Must Lead on Civil Rights Education, Not Whitewash History

Legislation to erase content about race and racism from Mississippi history lessons is moving quickly at the state Capitol. The bills are a form of censorship as they will ultimately strip our educators of the freedom to provide accurate and honest history instruction to public school students.

I have penned an op-ed outlining the reasons policymakers must reject the pending proposals. I also urge all education allies to visit the website, teachhistory.ms, to learn more about this issue.
