(Jackson, Miss.) –Jackson Housing Authority, Regions bank and Mississippi Center for Justice will host a clinic to provide free assistance to homeowners who are behind on their mortgages.
“Home foreclosures displace families and cause entire communities to decline,” said Rieko Wells of the Jackson Housing Authority. “Job loss, healthcare expenses, changes in mortgage rates and payments all impact a person’s ability to keep up with their mortgage payments. The earlier a person gets help, the more likely they are to be able to refinance or take other steps to avoid foreclosure.”
What: Free foreclosure help from attorneys and housing counselors
When: Tuesday, February 21 from 9 a.m. – 11 a.m.
Where: Jackson Housing Authority, 2747 Livingston Road, Jackson
Why: Mississippians need access to professionals who can help them negotiate with lenders and help them stay in their homes.
For more information about the clinic, please call Rieko Wells at the Jackson Housing Authority at 601-362-0885, ext. 115. The assistance is free of charge.
