Social Justice Empowerment Experience: The Great Mississippi Road Trip

October 30 @ 3:00 pm - November 1 @ 5:00 pm

RESERVE YOUR SEAT TODAY!

The Social Justice Empowerment Experience concludes with its most immersive offering—the Great Mississippi Road Trip. Taking place October 30 through November 1, this transformative journey invites participants to experience Mississippi’s history, culture, and ongoing pursuit of justice in a way that cannot be replicated in a classroom, museum, or book.

Beginning at the Medgar and Myrlie Evers National Monument in Jackson and traveling through the Mississippi Delta, the Road Trip connects the legacy of the Civil Rights Movement with today’s most pressing challenges and opportunities. Along the way, participants will visit historic landmarks, engage with local leaders and storytellers, and gain firsthand insight into the people, places, and experiences that continue to shape movements for change across Mississippi and beyond.

MCJ’s 2026 theme, TAKE A STAND, comes to life throughout the journey. From stories of ordinary citizens who transformed history through extraordinary courage to present-day advocates working to strengthen communities and protect democracy, the Road Trip offers a powerful reminder that progress is built by people willing to act.

Whether you are a longtime advocate, a student of history, a philanthropist, or simply someone seeking a deeper understanding of Mississippi’s impact on our nation, this experience offers a rare opportunity to learn, reflect, and connect with fellow travelers committed to creating a more just future.

You will leave with a deeper understanding of the people, places, and stories that continue to shape Mississippi’s pursuit of justice and inspire the work that lies ahead.
