Biden Administration Must Extend Temporary Protected Status for Cameroonians

Mississippi Center for Justice is among the 204 signatories on a letter to President Biden, Vice-President Harris, U.S. Department of Homeland Security Secretary Mayorkas and Secretary Blinken reinforcing their initial request for temporary protected status (TPS) or deferred enforced departures (DED) for Cameroon.

As explained in the letter, the Cameroonian  government’s repression of political opposition and human rights abuses against Cameroonians deported from the United States are among the reasons why this need must be met. This letter accompanied the introduction of the Cameroon TPS Act of 2021 by Representatives Zoe Lofgren (CA-19) and Hank Johnson (GA-4).
