Our work includes voter education, voter registration, and voter participation, while simultaneously making sure our elections are free, fair, and representative of all Mississippians.
Mississippi’s new SHIELD Act is now in effect (as of July 1, 2026), introducing additional citizenship verification requirements for some voters and new voter registration applicants. While most voters will see no immediate changes, some may be asked to provide documentation if their records cannot be matched with government databases.
